people are leaving because the game is very stail to play as a new player.there is no action .when i bought eve i thought it was an all out player versus player game.but it seems i have to mine for three months to buy a battleship in order to play against other players.50,000,000isk seems alote to risk in a first time battle.eve has no pvp expierience for the new player, and i find it very lacking in the overall fun factor for new players.in conclusion i give this game a year at best before the servers are taken down unless something is done to remedy the situation.there are other space oriented mmorg's coming out if they deliever what eve promised this game will be nothing more than a memory very shortly.

when i picked up eve and read the box before buying ,the impression i got was that it was a pvp based game.if it is not what else is there looking at floating rocks all day?
i cannot speak for you but i dont think ill pay 12.95 a month to play a space mining simulation.

i believe this would be a nice solution to combat new player boredom.also this would allow the frigate class to be more effective in combat.im not saying that this should be implamented in the entire game of eve but perhaps it should be tested in a small corner in the eve universe to see how much players like it .this would create more drama and action in the eve universe i also think this would attract a wider player base.
i think there is an easy solution to fix pvp on eve.why not lower insurance rates so players can easily cover thier ship for extended periods?implament a drop system so you can cover your most coveted and valueable items when you lose a ship.you must lower the death penalty so players are not afraid to engage in pvp.
i have been playing eve for about a month and have not been attacked by anyone.this is not very exciting at all.we need to get rid of the npc police ,players must learn to defend themselves.i would suggest implementing a corp owned station that would be very hard to destroy but not impossible.
new players should enjoy free insurance for an undetermined amount of skill points in order to be competitive. the default clone should coinside with this amount of skill points.
security ratings should stay in order to identify the threat level of other players. but this should not restrict that players movements in any space.right now eve is relativly new and people are not bored with the npc pirates and mining yet.soon they will become bored with these features and look to the excitement that player versus player combat can provide lets hope these issues will be resolved by then.i believe the longevity of this potentialy great game will depend on it.
my 2 cents

whats sad is this game is just a few months old and there is already a slow population decline in progress.with a game this new this should not be happening at all ,especialy with the game still on store shelves.this tells me that most of the people who try eve leave after the first month.you have to grab a players attention with excitement and action packed fun in the first month inorder to keep them coming back.this is not happening because it takes to long to engage in any player versus player combat.i wanna engage my fellow players in whatever profesion i choose.whether you chose to be a bounty hunter or a pirate or a miner you should have the same abilities across the board.is it fair to a bounty hunter that he has to hunt the pirate and engage him in the pirates home space.no pirates should be able to go into any area ..just like the miner and the bounty hunter.if you restrict gameplay you restrict the fun factor.why would you want to prevent the random encounter ?especialy in a game as big as eve.lower insurance rates and extend coverage time so people will have a chance to play this game.and above all else give the proffesions an equal chance to play one another, do not restrict a paying customer from his game or he will not play.
